We at Immune Fortress want to ensure that you have the facts about the products you are ingesting for your immune health. Our goal is to provide you with the appropriate amount of research to make an informed decision about your health to wellness journey, so take a look at what doctors are saying about glutathione (GSH).
Mark Adam Hyman is an American physician, scholar and New York Times best-selling author. He is the founder and medical director of the UltraWellness Center and a columnist for The Huffington Post. In this 2007 YouTube video Dr. Hyman addresses the importance of glutathione and coins it “the mother of all antioxidants”. The video is segmented into 5 video snippets so that you can tune into the specific sections that are important to you:
A practicing physician and New York Times bestselling book author, advises on raising glutathione in his article “Glutathione: The Mother of All Antioxidants” (Huffington Post, 6/10/2010):
“Try bioactive whey protein. This is great source of cysteine and the amino acid building blocks for glutathione synthesis. As you know, I am not a big fan of dairy. But this is an exception — with a few warnings. The whey protein MUST be bioactive and made from non-denatured proteins (“denaturing” refers to the breakdown of the normal protein structure). Choose non-pasteurized and non-industrially produced milk that contains no pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. GSH is a prescription bioactive non-denatured whey protein that is even listed in the Physician’s Desk Reference.”
The winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine Dr. Luc Antoine Montagnier, who is a world-renowned expert on immune deficiencies, included an entire chapter on GSH in one of his books “Oxidative Stress in Cancer, AIDS, and Neurodegenerative Diseases”. Chapter 42 in this book is dedicated to the research paper “Nutriceutical modulation of glutathione with a humanized native milk serum protein isolate GSH: application in AIDS and cancer” where it states that “glutathione is of major significance in cellular antioxidant activity, and that GSH functioning as a cysteine delivery system can enhance glutathione synthesis…”
Dr. Montagnier received the 2008 Nobel Prize for his 1984 discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), together with Dr. Françoise Barré–Sinoussi. In 1994, Dr. Montagnier drew attention to the promising effects of GSH, a proven precursor of glutathione, in his opening speech at the 10th International AIDS Conference in Yokohama, Japan.
Best-selling author of “Prescription For Nutritional Healing” states in his book that “It’s my opinion that everyone should be taking GSH. Today, there’s no better way to boost your immune system.”
A leading expert on immunology and cell biology, stated “Many studies…support the conclusion that GSH is effective in maintaining a strong immune system.” In 1989 Dr. Droge and his colleagues were first to discover that HIV-positive patients have abnormally low cysteine and glutathione levels.
